Reasons bathroom ventilation is an absolute necessity?

Bathrooms are one of those places which are frequently used by people for bathing and attending nature's call. Bathrooms are generally filled with water as people spill water on the floor while bathing or washing. If there is no outlet for the water vapor that forms out of the water in the bathrooms, the bathroom can become stuffy. To make the bathrooms comfortable, some sort of ventilation has to be used that serves as an outlet for the moisture-laden air inside the bathrooms. Initially, people used natural ventilation methods like an opening in the bathroom from where the moisture-laden air in the bathroom could escape.

The natural ventilation that happened due to the opening in the bathroom allowed moisture-laden air to escape and the fresh air was pulled in the process of exchange between the indoors and outdoors. With the invention of electricity, ventilation fans were introduced which could exhaust the moisture-laden air of the bathrooms in the process, pulling in fresh air from outside. Further improvements to the ventilation systems were the heating ventilation and air conditioning systems that integrated all these functions within a building or a home.

Centralized ventilation heating and air conditioning systems obviated the need for ventilation fans. A type of ventilation fan has been introduced which does not need any electricity to function. These ventilation fans work because of the air pressure differences between the indoors and outdoors. These ventilation fans can very well be installed in the bathrooms and without consuming any electrical energy these ventilation fans operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Ventilation fans enable ventilation in the bathrooms which keeps the bathrooms dry and filled with fresh air. Bathroom ventilation is as important as ventilation in any other part of a building or a home. Well-ventilated bathrooms enhance the user experience. One of the best ways to ventilate the bathrooms is to allow the sunlight to get through into the bathroom using some sort of natural opening.

When sunlight directly enters the bathroom then it acts as a disinfectant. The heat of the sunrise also warms the air inside the bathrooms causing the walls and the floor of the bathrooms to lose moisture thus making the bathrooms dryer. Architects who make buildings often pay particular attention to bathroom ventilation as improper ventilation can cause a lot of respiratory problems among people who use the bathrooms. Bathroom ventilation has become a discipline in itself with experts pouring time and effort into it.
