Homes whether those are apartments or detached homes are no exception to the above fact. Thus, For humans to be able to use homes, home ventilation becomes essential. As homes have been built for thousands of years even when there was no electricity, natural ventilation was the only way to bring about home ventilation. With the discovery of electricity and homes being connected to electrical lines, it became possible for mechanical ventilation to be integrated into the homes.

 Even though home ventilation has been practiced for thousands of years, it is still a developing field where the latest technology is giving it a new lease of life. Companies are continuously researching new ways to ventilate homes, like being able to heat and cool the homes using carbon dioxide as a gas used in heat exchangers. Even though carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, when used as a heat exchanger it is an excellent gas that works efficiently without consuming much electricity. Homes whether those are apartments or detached homes can use heat exchangers which are filled with carbon dioxide.

Home ventilation is executed using HVAC which stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning these days. In apartment complexes district cooling is used for summers and district heating for the winters. Exhaust fans and other types of ventilation fans are quite common in homes these days.
